CELEBRATING 5 YEARS OF ADVENTURE TOURS IN ÅLESUND!
We discovered Ålesund’s outdoor adventure potential back in 2014; then proceeded to design and lead Ålesund’s first ever adventure day trips. ‘The Tour of the Art Nouveau Archipelago’ either sea kayaking or SUPing, is the original adventure day trip from 2014; now, 5 years later we have designed several more sea kayak and SUP trips as well we have designed a couple of bicycle day trips. Heading into our sixth season in 2019 we have the largest selection of day adventures in the city.
For 2019 we have made some improvements to our Ålesund operations; to better serve our guests. We have included a door to door pick-up/drop-off service, where our driver picks you up for your tour at either your chosen accommodation or the cruise ship terminal for the short drive to our new open-air launching site, which, has received only rave reviews plus it gets you right out on tour.
At KMT, we only host small groups on our day adventures and in most cases your group will have a private guide enabling you to customize your tour as you desire. Your KMT guide holds international certification, is professional, friendly and accommodating. You are in the best of hands with KMT.
KMT is a sustainable company operating in Norway. However, Norway is Europe’s most expensive country; being a sustainable company our price point is high; however, you get what you pay for in all respects, international certified guides, small groups (mostly private groups allowing for personalized custom tours) wholesome homemade al fresco lunches and un-compromising equipment.
Ålesund, Norway’s Outdoor Adventure Capital and Gate-Way to the Famous Western Fjords!.
Our Adventure Line Up:
A Sea kayakers Paradise, with rock gardens, white sandy beaches, playful seals, kelp forests, surging tides, soaring sea eagles, historical lighthouses, funky currents, cracking campfires, and cozy tents.
The coastal waters of western Norway boast some of the best sea kayaking on the planet. Here outer islands break the surge North Atlantic before it descends long deep fjords winding through granite spires rising like giant monoliths from the foaming sea.
The waterways of Ålesund’s archipelago boast an Eldorado of magnificent paddling opportunities. Gliding amongst picturesque islands, paddling along steep granite walls of jade green fjords, or challenging the rolling waves of the North Atlantic where white sandy beaches speckle outer islands that abound in bird and sea life. It is out here that personal fulfillment and rejuvenation take place.
Stand Up Paddling
True to our pioneering spirit, KMT was the first outfitter to add SUP to it's programs in Norway a decade ago. We designed and lead the first SUP trips on the fjords and now have introduced SUPing to Western Norway and Ålesund. Our paddleboard giudes/instructors are the best in the industry, they are professional paddleboards from North America, so you are in great hands on your KMT paddleboard trip.
Guided Paddleboard Trips & Tours
Local Knowledge! The most important ingredient for an outstanding SUP tour. KMT brought the first SUP boards to Ålesund's waterways; then we paddled hundreds of kilometers exploring these water, discovering best routes and finding hidden spots, all resulting in a fantastic SUP tour. Join a friendly professional KMT guide for a great SUP paddle while visiting Ålesund!
Stand-Up Paddling (SUP)
SUP is the fastest growing water sport in the world today. Originating in the south Pacific, it is traced back to the 1940's in Tahiti; referred to as ‘Ku Hoe He'e Nalu’ on the Hawaiian Islands, the sport is quickly gaining popularity all over the world because of its graceful simplicity and quick learning curve.
